The two things that come to mind are that you're not sorting them first, and you're not selecting them properly.
After you import the images, select only the first one in order to 'deselect' the entire group. Then click on the Name column to sort. Then click the first image you want to add, scroll down and Shift+Click the last image. This will select the entire range between. Then just drag to sequence.
